Counselling Psychology
Counselling psychology is a specialised area of professional psychology that promotes psychological well-being, personal development, and effective personal and interpersonal functioning across the lifespan. It draws on culturally sensitive and evidence-based approaches to help individuals manage emotional distress, navigate life challenges, resolve crises, and develop effective coping strategies. It also emphasises individual strengths, prevention, and the influence of social, cultural, and environmental factors on psychological well-being (American Psychological Association, 2022).
